1. Make the most of beachlife in Benidorm
First on your list of what to do in Benidorm? Head to the beach, of course! Levante Beach is the place for most people’s holiday. With golden sand, parasols aplenty and a promenade packed with bars, hotels and restaurants, it’s easy to see why. It can get busy, yes, but this is the best thing to do in Benidorm for beach fun. The city, as we’re sure you know, has a thriving nightlife. With plenty of lively bars dotted around this area, you’ll never be short on choice.
Best for: Sunbathing
While you’re there: Searching for cheap holidays to Benidorm? We’re here to help! We recommend staying at Melia Benidorm Hotel. Just minutes from Levante Beach, you’ll be in an ideal location.
2. Go on a day-trip to Guadalest
Twenty-one kilometres west of Benidorm, Guadalest is one of the more popular tourist attractions in the area. The sixteenth-century Moorish castle town is built into the crumbling surrounding rock. You enter through a gateway tunnelled into the mountain. It’s worth visiting for the view down to the peaceful reservoir (accessible via the village of Beniarda just to the west) and across the sprawling valley.
3. Enjoy a show at the Benidorm Palace
For an evening of glitz and glam head to Benidorm Palace for a show. This is one of the most entertaining things to do in Benidorm. Enjoy a wide range of exciting events at the venue. From live music to professional dancers, there’s always an exciting show.
4. Have a splash in a water park
One of the best things to do in Benidorm is to hit the water. If you’re travelling with kids (or just want to get in touch with your inner child), you’re spoilt for choice in Benidorm. Each amusement park seems to eclipse the next: there’s the “mythical” Terra Mítica theme park (Mythic Land); the wildlife theme park Terra Natura; and the Aqualandia water park; to name just three and, well, you get the idea.
5. Cycle in the great outdoors
Benidorm isn’t just sun and sand. If you’re more of the active type and want a bit of adventure, why not have a bike ride in Benidorm? There are numerous bike hire shops which all offer affordable bike rentals. Cycle past pretty flowers, cute villages and crumbling ruins on the Costa Blanca.
6. Discover one of Spain’s most thrilling theme parks
Like the rush of a rollercoaster? Look no further. Terra Mítica theme park is one of the largest theme parks in the country. There are plenty of rides and rollercoasters to keep your adrenaline pumping. There are also live performances for when you’re back on the ground.
7. Venture down Tapas Alley
Hungry? Benidorm is heaving with international flavours, but if you’re looking for something a bit closer to Benidorm, Tapas Alley is the place for you. In the Old Town, head towards Calle Santo Domingo. You’ll stroll past a great selection of tapas places, with legs of jamon serrano dangling in the background.
8. Head out to Benidorm Island
Only two nautical miles off the coast sits Benidorm Island. This nature reserve offers scenic hikes and picturesque views of the mainland. Look out onto crystal-clear water and jagged crags. The uninhabited spot is home to a bar and restaurants for its regular visitors.
